Important Engineering Dates

Each Academic Term has 12 weeks of classes. Reading Week does not count as one of the twelve weeks in the numbering of the weeks for the Winter Academic Term. If there are holidays throughout the term, these will be appended to the term for the first few days of the 13th week.

  • Work-term reports are due at the ECE Main Office (EIT 3033) seven days after the first day of classes no later than 4:30 P.M. For exampe, if the first day of classes is on a Monday, the Work-term reports are due the following Monday at 4:30 P.M.
  • For Classes of 2008-13, 2B students who gave but failed their technical presentation in 2A must enrol in TPM 1X000 in Quest for a presentation period.
  • For Class of 2014+, 3A students who gave but failed their technical presentation in 2B must enrol in TPM 1X000 in Quest for a presentation period.
  • The last day to register for a Supplemental Examination is on or around the 1st day of the second month of the Academic Term. Please check with the Registrar's Office.
  • Class Enrolment Appointments (for the next Academic Term) are announced through Quest and are usually near the start of the 2nd month of the current Academic Term.
  • Pre-enrolment Course Selection (for the subsequent Academic Term, i.e., six months from now) is announced through Quest and are usually near the end of the 2nd month of the current Academic Term.
  • Mid-term Examinations for 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B students are nominally held on the 7th week of the Academic Term.
  • Mid-term Examinations for 4A and 4B students normally span the second and third months of the Academic Term.
  • If you are signing up for a course to be taken on a Co-op Work Term, you must wait for the On-Campus Open Enrolment Period.
  • If you are taking an extra course and you have a slot for at least one elective during your Academic Term, the last day you may designate which elective is not counted towards your Term Average (DRNA or NRNA) is four weeks prior the the first day of final examinations.
