The Giga-to-Nanoelectronics (G2N) Centre

University of Waterloo Giga-to-Nanoelectronics (G2N) Centre provides the micro- and nanofabrication, characterization and testing facilities for academic and industrial research and development. The G2N facility provides fabrication and characterization capabilities unique in Canada, in particular, in large area electronics and electronics on unconventional substrates (glass, plastic foils, metal foils, paper, etc.) to enable the research projects including:

  1. development of novel electronic materials;
  2. design, processing and integration of electronic devices and circuits;
  3. rapid system prototyping including design, fabrication, and testing.

The G2N Centre is committed to support graduate and undergraduate research in applications of micro- and nanofabrication and in disseminating knowledge to the research community.

The Centre welcomes the industry to perform research and development projects in the facility in collaboration with academic researchers. Long term collaborative projects are given a priority. Extended fabrication projects are considered and planned individually subject to the facility load to ensure protection of all facility users' interests.
