Information for Prospective Post-Docs and Students
We have one Post-Doc position available for growth of Silicon nanowires. Candidates with prior experience for silicon nanowire growth will be preferred.

We have one Ph.D. position available for design and fabrication of mid-IR Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers. Exceptional masters students will be considered with the expectation that they will continue to do Ph.D. Part of the research will be done in University of Maryland and the student is expected to spend time there. As such Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be preferred.

We have one Ph.D. position available in Nanophotonics. Exceptional masters students will be considered with the expectation that they will continue to do Ph.D.

We look for students who are creative, dedicated, enthusiastic and responsible. Some of the qualities that will make applicants attractive include:

1. Have a degree from an internationally well-recognized academic institution.

2. Be in the top 2% of their class. You should also have a strong undergraduate training in maths and quantum physics. 

3. Have research interests in photonics or applied physics. I will not consider students unless it is clear to me that your research interests are aligned to our area of focus. Your transcripts, prior research experience, and statement of purpose should show a clear commitment to research in photonics, optics or applied physics.

Students with prior research experience in photonics, especially with publications in peer-reviewed conference or journal will be preferred for the Ph.D. openings.
