Short Bio

I am a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. I obtained the B.Eng and M.Eng in Electrical Engineering from McGill University as well as S.M. and PhD in Engineering Science from Harvard University.

My interests are generally in communications, information theory and signal processing. Currently I am interested in most aspects of communications from an information theoretical viewpoint as well as signal processing and communication theory perspectives.

Unfortunately, I cannot respond to all email.  Kindly note that it is not necessary to have your own funding (e.g., government scholarship), but I am then required to fund you, which limits the number of students I can take.

I also have some joint collaborative projects with various degrees of intersection between communication theory, RF circuits, and computer hardware. If you are interested in this type of work, please mention this when contacting me.
